How to remove a stuck twist on glass shade from a dome light fixture

This is a foolproof way that I came up with to remove the glass cover from a dome light fixture. Every other method that I tried did not work for me on this fixture. Here I used a short 6 ft extension cord and wrapped it around the grove in the glass right where it meets the base. This allowed me to get a good grip and the leverage needed in order to turn the glass counterclockwise and successfully remove it in order to clean it.
