2117, A Metaverse Fantasy Mission to Colonize Mars

2117 is a Mars Metaverse initiative following the United Arab Emirates' commitment to colonizing Mars in 100 years.

With humanity as the core value, 2117 (2-1-1-7) is a fully immersive metaverse experience of the colonization of Mars. We start from a rocket launch event and then travel in real time through space to a landing on Mars. Then, the real fun begins as we settle the red planet and build an independent society.

Following the UAE’s vision to colonize Mars by 2117, we are building a full experience for people who will not be around in the next century to live it for themselves. 2117 will allow participants to be a part of the journey in such a way that they can help prepare for the future real-life colonization of the red planet.

2117 is designed to have a fully functional society and economy based on equality, community, and interconnectedness.

As 2117 is a story driven metaverse, the citizens will be participating in a scripted adventure, with the opportunity for input into story trajectory along the way. The initial story begins with the launch from earth into space headed to Mars. Along the way, story elements will be released that guide the citizens to complete tasks, quests or participate in events and games. Successful tasks and wins will result in rewards and story progression, for both individuals and the collective society. Visitors will be able to also earn or win rewards, with the ultimate prize being full citizenship. There will be peril along the way, but a strong community will ensure success.

A Colony Status Dashboard will be introduced with time and will be the central information hub for 2117. It will show the status of the colony, including resources (water, food, medicine), growth of the colony, along with any other metrics that become relevant.
