"The Metaverse" has become a viral term. Facebook has rebranded to Meta, massive valuations for small, unproven projects claiming to build "The Oasis" from Ready Player One... this new viral trend has it all.

However, with all the hype, comes disaster. Giant valuations for projects that cannot justify the number... runaway dev teams who steal user funds, and a new frontier of reskinned, rebranded and sub par "games" that are at best a pale imitation of what came before, for a much higher price tag.
