Thanks to our friends at Primary Arms we were able to take a close look at the Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 5" model. We also put a Springfield Armory HEX Dragonfly RDS on the 1911 DS Prodigy. We encountered several issues that seem to be fairly common problems based on my Google-Fu. Springfield Armory is capable of making a very well made 1911 but it seems that price was more important than quality on this budget 2011 type 9mm pistol.
