If you are going to thrive in Nicaragua, you are going to do so best by "going with the flow". Accept that somethings are different, not everything is better, and that ultimately you have no power to change the culture (if you even should.) Accept that you are learning to live in this system, just as you grew up learning to live in a different one. Accepting how things are is going to make you a lot happier than attempting to swim against the flow. In a country famous for riptides, this is a lesson you need to learn.
