BC FINALLY Makes Buying Real Estate Fair

BC REALTORs, through the BCREA, are introducing a new self imposed rule to improve real estate transactions for you the buyer and seller in the future. During the intense sellers market that we experienced in late 2021 and early 2022, it was commonplace for REALTORs to hold offers until a specified offer date via the Direction Regarding Presentation of Offers (DRPO). However, what happens when a buyer's agent presents an offer prior to the offer date, often referred to in the industry as a "bully offer"?

In this video, Surrey Real Estate Specialist Steve Karrasch of Macdonald Realty discusses the new self imposed rule that changes the Rules of Cooperation between agents effective October 17, 2022 and why this change is beneficial to both buyers and sellers in a hot sellers market.
