Sheep amongst Wolves - a sermon on Matthew 10:16-22

When it comes to great commissionings, I frankly prefer the one that comes at the end of the Gospel of Matthew – “Go and make disciples of all nations … and lo, I will be with you always, even to the close of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

That latter commissioning certainly has a far more optimistic feel to it, with no mention of wolves or floggings or betrayals or death, though I must admit that not many of us in Dulwich Hill get flogged for our faith. Are we doing something wrong!
