As part of a series of deployment tests, NASA’s InSight Mars lander was commanded to deploy its solar arrays to test and verify the exact process that it will use on the surface of Mars. The test was conducted on April 30, 2015 by Lockheed Martin engineers and technicians in a clean room at the company’s Space Systems facilities near Denver.
