Transatlantic Return, Ep. 1: Departing Las Palmas

With the boat provisioned and the weather forecast looking decent (that would change a bit, of course, soon after departing ... ) I weigh anchor from the industrial port of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. It takes some time work clear off all the commercial traffic, yacht traffic, and anchored ships outside the sheltered harbor. And then it turns out that the ARC+ fleet was departing the same day (Nov. 8), so I had to watch out for them as well. Eventually we work clear of the islands and the trade winds come in fresh, sending us scudding on our way across the Atlantic toward the Caribbean.
