Study of Monsoon Drain from Taman Jaya and Section 52 PJ to Sg. Penchala

A walking tour to study the monsoon drains from Taman Jaya in Section 10 Petaling Jaya, which passes under Jalan Timur, through Section 52 on the Amcorp Mall and Padang Astaka sides of the Federal Highway and beside Armada Hotel, The Pinnacle (where Sheraton Petaling Jaya is housed), then under the flyover the Federal Highway from Jalan Barat to Jalan Utara, then beside Menara Axis (Axis Tower) and Crystal Plaza. The monsoon drain continues behind City University, then swings between the Naza Auto Mall showroom in the Jalan 51A/221 area and Copper Mansion in the Jalan 51A/223 area and empties into Sungai Penchala (Penchala River) behind The Store on Jalan 51A/223 and the back of Naza Auto Mall.Show more

The purpose of this walking tour conducted on 7 October 2022 (behind the D'Jungle food court and Menara Axis) and 10 October 2022 (beside Padang Astaka, behind Amcorp Mall and H.M. Shah Tower, and in Taman Jaya - was to identify one of the drainage tributaries feeding into Sungai Penchala.

Note: Pardon any mistakes in my narration, such as "Taman Aman" where mentioned should be Taman Jaya, "St Ignatius Church" should actually be St Francis Xavier Church (though subsequent tracing on Google Maps shows that this drain comes from the general Section 10 area and not directly beside the Catholic High School and St Francis Xavier Church both of which are also in Section 10), and "Crystal Crown" which is a hotel on Jalan Utara should be Crystal Plaza which is beside Menara Axis.
