Reports: Kroger seeking to buy rival Albertsons

Bloomberg broke the story Thursday that Kroger and Albertson’s were in merger talks, with a deal that could be announced this week. The combined companies would operate more than 5,000 stores in the U.S. that generate in excess of $200 billion in annual revenue.
