A Vermont man secretly lowered fluoride levels in the town's water supply for years. Kendall Chamberlin, Richmond's water and wastewater superintendent was concerned not only about the chemical itself but also the fact that it was sourced from China. Fluoride was first added to the water supply in the U.S. back in the 1940s. In 2015, the federal government lowered fluoride levels after some children were getting white splotches on their teeth. Other communities eliminated fluoride completely. The CDC says fluoridated water decreases tooth decay by 25%. More than 70% of the American population has fluoride in the water.

Is Kendall Chamberlin a hero or a villain? Let me know in the comments!
