The Buffalo Bills are one of the most talented teams in the NFL and have a long and successful history. The table breaking, tailgating fanbase is commonly one of the most passionate groups in sports. What's the point of this team playing in an outdated stadium while less successful franchises see new, innovative stadiums being built in other cities across America? For many Bills fans, this is a puzzling question. But with a new stadium proposal coming soon, there’s some excitement from the fanbase.

It is yet to be decided where the new arena will be located, but two potential sites include: Downtown Buffalo or Orchard Park.

Orchard Park is home to the team's current stadium, so there's some history associated with this location that may feel sentimental to some. The commute to the old arena is only 20 minutes from the city center so this idea doesn't seem unfeasible to many people. Many fans insist on a downtown stadium in the hopes that this will lead to a more entertaining experience before, during, and after the game.

The project will include a retail district, restaurants, parking garages and an innovative stadium that will house the Bills. There are also various hotels involved.

It was announced March 28th, 2022 that there was a deal between New York State, Erie County and the Buffalo Bills for a 63,000 seat stadium in Orchard Park at a cost of $1.4 billion dollars. New York State will contribute nearly $600 million with Erie County contributing $250 million, the Bills contributing $350 million, and the National Football League via a G-4 loan of roughly $200 million. The Bills have signed a 30-year lease, with the possibility of leaving after 15 years. The stadium will be owned by the state rather than Erie County, which owns the current stadium.

This new stadium is estimated to replace the current arena in 2026.
