Welcome, George Kune to the farm! After much thought and research, we decided that the best pig breed for our family at this time would be the Kune Kune. We had considered a few other medium size heritage breed hogs as well but when the opportunity presented itself to buy George we were very excited. The Kune Kune pig is a heritage breed that thrives on grass, fruits, and veggies. We are also feeding him a small amount of oats, sunflower seeds, chaffhaye, grass hay, and table scraps daily. We are looking forward to going back to the same breeder in a couple months to pick out our female pig and bring her home. Our plan is to breed the pigs in the future and raise the babies for meat and potentially sell any extra piglets.
