Hundreds of homes in southeast Australia were without power on Thursday (October 13), with residents seen rushing to make and grab sandbags to protect properties as an intense weather system lashed the region. Tasmania police and Victoria state emergency services warned of more heavy rain, damaging winds and flash flooding.
