A hole in the ground

We live in strange times. On one hand, our ancestors showed great respect for their bodies as loaned to them by God. Even in death they continued respect by well maintained family cemeteries. Today we claim unwarranted ownership of our bodies. We mark and pierce them as we choose and when done we cast them aside for others to dispose of.
As believers we understand that "we" in death are no longer residing in our fleshly body but somehow I feel we have lost something that our ancestors once had.
