Well, Grandma didn't have to order cases of pasta from Amazon or Walmart . She made the trip once a year to Philadelphia to get a large barrels of Dry Goods! HA!!!
Just some back story here: I have used mylar bags and 02 absorbers in the past for "Long Term Food Storage". I still had to throw out a lot of food in the end because if your not meticulous about resealing your mylar bags the pests will get in. That happened over the course of many years. You could absolutely use your mylar bags and 02 absorbers in these containers. However, I think for long term storage it would probably be cheaper to go with buckets to store mylar bags with o2 absorbers. This is not "Long Term Food Storage" for us, it's just pantry storage that we are constantly accessing and using on a daily basis. Most likely it will be used up within 6mths-1 year. I'm going to add a few Bay leaves to each container to help ward off pests as well. Unfortunately, I don't have a large freezer to pre-freeze all of these dry goods before putting them into the containers. I have two small freezers and they are always mostly full. I hope this video helps to inspire you to come up with your own plan for your pantry.
