Dr. David Bell: "Pandemics Are Really Rare Despite What We Are Continually Told"

Speaking at WCH General Assembly #60 on Monday, October 10, Dr. David Bell gave an eye - opening presentation about the history of the WHO and pandemic preparedness.

"So really, we only had the one in 57' and the one in 68' [since the Spanish flu]. They killed about a million people each—which is less than [the number of people who] die every single year, year-on-year from tuberculosis," Dr. Bell explained.

David is a clinical and public health physician with a PhD in population health and background in internal medicine, modelling and epidemiology of infectious disease.

Born and educated in Australia, Dr. Bell has worked in global health and biotech for the past 20 years, managing collaborations across 6 continents. He is a board member of PANDA (Pandemics - Data & Analysis) and currently leads the socio-political projects on global public health.

Previously, David was Director of the Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund in the USA, Programme Head for Malaria and Acute Febrile Disease at FIND in Geneva, and coordinating malaria diagnostics strategy with the WHO.
