Arrests in connection with the attack on the Crimean Bridge have been announced by Russia’s FSB. The agency has also disclosed information about the alleged Ukrainian terrorist plot behind the blast.

Saturday’s explosion was allegedly caused by the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, according to the agency, who stated that Kirill Budanov, the commander, was personally in charge of the operation. A further 12 people have been identified as potential collaborators, eight of whom have been detained.

According to the FSB report, the explosives were hidden in rolls of plastic construction film that were shipped from Odessa via Georgia and Armenia. The shipping documentation listed a nonexistent company in Crimea as the final recipient.

‘The investigation continues. All organizers and accomplices in the crime, including foreign citizens, will be held accountable,’ stressed the agency.
