In Circles is about an unhealthy relationship. Love still exists in that relationship but he finds himself in a downward spiral: he can’t make his lover happy neither himself happy.

Diary is the debut studio album by Sunny Day Real Estate. The album is considered by many to be a defining emo album of the second wave, otherwise known as Midwest emo. It has also been called the missing link between post-hardcore and the nascent emo genre.

Sunny Day Real Estate embarked on a reunion tour in September 2022.
