DEEPER UNDERSTANDING - Society as a machine. Isn't it like a big machine WE created?

It has a logical component and smaller bits that function together.
Question for today is: Are we making use of it, or is it making use of us, our energy and our power? Do we need it, does it need us, or is it just a theater play we are playing just to run away from the responsibilities of living a good, conscious life so that one enjoys the comfort of the Unconscious life.
