The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk is the twin-engine, four-blade helicopter. The helicopter was designed for the United States Army’s Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System (also known as UTTAS) competition. The aircraft's main role is for utility. It is manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft and the name was inspired by the Native American war leader Black Hawk.

The helicopter is strong enough to carry and transport 11 troops with equipment and lift 2,600 pounds of cargo internally or it can carry 9,000 pounds externally by sling. The helicopter can perform an array of missions including tactical transport, electronic warfare, and aeromedical evacuation. The Black Hawk can also be equipped with extra fuel tanks (stub wings) or other variants. It is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines. It is the most preferred utility aircraft because of its dependability, versatility, and toughness. It has more than 10 million flight hours.

The UH-60A entered the service in 1979 with the United States Army. The Black Hawk replaced the Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey). The Black Hawk has served in Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, the Balkans, & other areas in the Middle East. Different versions of the Black Hawk have been developed for The United States Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
