Just Passin’ Through - Eps 6 Capt Stoney Whitelock and Skipjacks
1 year ago
2
Skipjacks are the last of their kind. Simple, tough sailboats made to harvest oysters in the Chesapeake Bay. In their day there were hundreds of them. Now, only a handful remain and still harvest oysters by sail as they have for decades. Captain Stoney Whitelock and other enthusiasts are trying to save the few remaining boats, keep them sailing and allow future generations to enjoy these historic vessels and the stories of the way of life for those who sailed them.
