The child, identified by police as an 8-year-old boy, was hit at approximately 2:02 p.m. on Laidlaw Avenue by the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox traveling westbound. Police say the child was crossing the street when the crash happened. "There are multiple trucks," said Jacqueline Edmerson, president of the Bond Hill Community Council. "This is a very dangerous street. Most of the streets in Bond Hill, I don’t see these kind of trucks. I think it’s because it’s so close to I-75, so a lot of the trucks ... are coming to get on I-75, so we’re going to have to look at that."
