I’ve been brainstorming, barnstorming
Hanging out in left field free forming
Daydreaming on a stormy afternoon

Sitting here reclining, highlighting
The fact that I don’t understand bullfighting
I'm shape shifting on a stormy afternoon

Seeing that the clouds ain’t clearing any time soon
Might have to send up a weather balloon
To see if we’ll ever get another sunny day

Meanwhile my mind plays tricks as I’m getting my kicks
Might as well see if anything sticks
Because there’s nothing I can do to wish this lousy weather away

So I’m sitting here cat herding, whirly-birding
Shaking like a leaf with electricity surging
Cake baking on a stormy afternoon

Been watching TV 'til my eyeballs bleed
Buying stuff online that I really don’t need
Singing silly songs on a stormy afternoon

In the meantime had nice long nap, listened to some rap
Tried to find out if my phones are tapped
Just something to do until the crappy weather changed

Tried to go outside, watch cars collide
Even thought about taking a nice bike ride
But that’s not a lot of fun to do in the pouring rain

So I thought about skeet shooting, drugstore looting
Even try my hand at a little horn tooting
All to kill the boredom on a stormy afternoon

I'll be taking a long walk around a short block
Hoping that I’ll maybe get a lightening shock
Brave the elements on a stormy afternoon

Even thought about calling you up, my ex-buttercup
To tell me again why I was dumped
And left sitting alone on a stormy afternoon

I’m just sad and lonely on a stormy afternoon
Maybe I’ll just curl up and die on a stormy afternoon…
