Competition or Tactical - Hard Skills Don't Change

There is no difference in hard skills for tactical shooter vs competition shooters when it comes to pistol or rifle. The skills are the same in my mind. I want them to be as consistent and performance oriented as I can develop them. The context I apply those skills is the difference.

A principle based approach to training has served me well over the years. Over developing foundational skills is never going to be a bad thing. At the highest levels, shooters master basic principles and are able to repeatedly execute them on demand, regardless of stress. This is something the practical world has in common with the tactical world.

Focusing on hard skills is the way to develop as a tactical shooter in my opinion. Situations vary greatly, having the shooting and hard skills run in the background will only help you.
