Reactive Shooting vs Predictive Shooting

Reactive shooting or predictive shooting, both have their place in terms of control and accountability.

Reactive shooting is slow fire marksmanship for practical shooters. It’s by no means slow but gives the shooter accountability and assumes very low risk. Apply the correct level of confirmation and as soon as you see an acceptable sight picture you send it.

Predictive shooting is not conscious confirmation of each shot, it relies on your experience with how the gun behaves in recoil. Connection to the target and connection to the sights is imperative. This way of shooting stresses the importance of well developed foundational skills like grip and vision.

Practical shooters understand these concepts generally, tactical guys should understand these concepts. As training tools or engagements sequences, it gives you more tools in the toolbox.
