The Ancient Cliff Dwellings of Walnut Canyon National Monument, AZ

In May, we visited the cliff dwellings of Walnut Canyon National Monument. It was a fantastic experience. We walked the easy mile-long Island Trail after descending 284 steps. We passed by approximately 25 ancient ruins on this loop trail. Along the rim is the Rim Trail, about .7 miles long. After that, we walked to the Pit House Ruins. Finally, we visited the small museum inside the Visitor’s Center, which also has a gift shop.
