Nikeya Shumake, 32, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was shot more than a dozen times on July 23 after her ex-boyfriend Askia Strong, also 32, attacked her
The pair reportedly got in an argument and he chased her down the street before shooting her over a dozen times
Shumake had broken up with him a few days prior to the shooting and said he 'couldn't accept that life was about to get hard' after she made his life so 'easy'
The couple had been together for 17 years and they share three children - who witnessed the shooting
Surveillance footage showed Strong firing several times while Shumake was on the ground before he ran off
He is currently at large and believed to be hiding in Illinois or Indiana with family
