President Joe Biden spoke in Fort Myers, Florida, on October 5 about the assistance the federal government is providing to victims of Hurricane Ian. While beginning his remarks, Biden discussed the extreme weather and disasters that have taken place in the U.S. this year, saying, ‘The one thing this has finally ended is a discussion about whether or not there's climate change and we should do something about it.’
Both Biden and Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who also gave remarks at the briefing, emphasized the cooperation between all levels of government.
