Putin: "Ukrainian special services are behind the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge"

1. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, October 9, held a meeting with the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, to discuss the explosion, emergency on the Crimean bridge.

The head of state said that the Ukrainian special services were behind the explosion at this facility.

"There is no doubt here, this is a terrorist attack aimed at destroying the critical infrastructure of the Russian Federation. And the authors, performers, customers are the special services of Ukraine," Putin said.

Bastrykin reported that the participants in the attack had been identified. These are Ukrainian special services, citizens of Ukraine and foreign states, who helped them in their preparation. The head of the Investigative Committee said that a criminal case under the article "Terrorism" was initiated on the fact of the state of emergency.

2. Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an operational meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS.

"Tomorrow the President is scheduled to hold a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council," he said.

Peskov did not specify whether the situation with the Crimean bridge would be discussed at the meeting. "We'll let you know following the results [of the meeting]," he said.
