Trump Takes Victory Lap over Ben Sasse Retiring: ‘Great News for the United States Senate’
President Donald Trump has taken a victory lap over news that his nemesis Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) is retiring from the U.S. Senate.

As Slay News reported on Thursday, Sasse is expected to resign soon and take a job as president of the University of Florida.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump slammed Sasse as a “weak and ineffective RINO.”

“Great news for the United States Senate, and our Country itself,” Trump said.

“Liddle’ Ben Sasse, the lightweight Senator from the great State of Nebraska, will be resigning.

“If he knew he was going to resign so early in his term, why did he run in the first place?
