Because OCD can manifest in so many varied ways that its diagnosis is often overlooked or misunderstood as there are so many different symptoms of OCD, Pure O, Harm OCD, Relationship OCD, hypochondria, and all the various compulsions and intrusive thoughts.

OCD sits on top of anxiety and other anxiety disorders.

John Glanvill gives a detailed explanation of what OCD is from a former OCD sufferers perspective. Obsessive compulsive disorder is more common than most people expect. It ranges from intrusive thoughts through panic attacks and for some, a range of compulsions that force the experiencer to repeat certain routines that may include, touching, counting, checking, cleaning.

At its core are unrequested, intrusive, and obsessive thoughts that cause you to create scary stories in your mind, of all the things that could go wrong, thus invoking anxiety in your body, doubt about the right thing to do, and the need for reassurance.

If you can understand OCD and anxiety in greater detail, it allows you to plot your recovery back to calmness and well-being in a practical and logical manner.

My goal is to make high quality educational information regarding anxiety disorder and OCD for those who are serious about change and for those who can't afford high quality help.
