Japanese Startup Unveils Giant Robot

Fans of the movie Short Circuit will spot a familiar face should they visit certain industrial sectors of Japan in the future.

Startup Jinki Ittai has created a giant remote-controlled robot, capable of heavy duty construction jobs not possible for humans.

The designers appear to be fans of Short Circuit’s automated hero Johnny 5, since their creation bears an uncanny resemblance to the movie’s wisecracking robot. Unlike Johnny 5 however, Jinki Ittai’s robot won't be solving crimes and stealing car radios. #RT
