NOT Your TYPICAL Fratello - The FRATELLO ARLEQUIN Prensado Robusto - CIGAR REVIEWS by CigarScore

If you've followed CigarScore TV, and read our cigar reviews for a while, you might know that we really enjoy Fratello cigars. So, when Omar de Frias, Fratello's founder, released his latest blend, the Arlequin, we knew we had to get our hands on some.

Visually, the Fratello Arlequin Prensado Robusto is a great looking cigar. The wrapper is dark in color and it appears beautifully marbled with flecks of milk-chocolatey brown. And, when smelling the wrapper leaf, I got a smell like that of molasses.

After a quick snip with my guillotine, the draw was perfect and I could taste something like powdered chocolate milk. Once the Arlequin was lit, I could taste quite a bit of spice from the Ecuadorian Habano binder, and, perhaps, a little cocoa flavor too.

The first third of my Fratello Arlequin Prensado Robusto seemed to burn fairly slow. Not in a bad way, but in a “this robusto might take longer than I expected it to” kind of way.

Also, the middle third is when I started to experience burn issues that required a couple of disappointing touch-ups with my torch. The flavors continue to be rich, spicey, and complex, with hints of chocolate and some nice sweetness. The draw continues to be amazing.

Final Thoughts

The Fratello Arlequin is an interesting and complex cigar that led to a mixed review. While the cigar did last a good amount a time (for a robusto), I did have to even up the burn twice. Also, the draw was absolutely flawless.

The first third of the Arlequin was quite bold and spicey. The middle third was much more mellow. The final third had flavors that were very roasted and almost charred.

Overall, the cigar was a good experience. A fantastic draw and bold flavors were only countered by a burn that had to be touched up twice. Because I enjoyed this cigar and would smoke it again, the Fratello Arlequin Prensado Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
