In depth video diaries were recorded at the time and we still have them all. The policeman chasing Fiona was dismissed from the service after being convicted for perverting the course of justice. No charges were ever brought on Fiona despite spending time in Madrid prison awaiting extradition which was never applied for by the British.
The arrest was made in Spain by the daily mail who had got a friendly magistrate to sign an emergency arrest warrant.
