男人在籃球比賽輸給女友後，開槍打死了她。

或許很多人不知道"hoop"就是籃球"Basketball"的俚語；"hoops"就是籃球比賽：the game of basketball。

"hoops": a game played on a court by two opposing teams of 5 players; points are scored by throwing the ball through an elevated horizontal hoop.
由各5名球員組成的兩支球隊在球場上進行的比賽；通過將籃球扔進一個高架的藍框來得分。

俚語用法的例句：
Come on, man, it's a beautiful day. Let's go down to the court and shoot some hoops.
