FLUGMOTORENWERKE OSTMARK CAVE TURNED WW2 FACTORY TURNED NUCLEAR SHELTER

In 1943 as German industry began to move into underground tunnels, bunkers and caves throughout the Reich. One of the largest natural cave systems in CZ was prepared for the German Aircraft Engine Factory East, it was a large German aircraft engine supplier during World War II, a part of the Steyr-Daimler-Puch and Steyer.

I am taking you through a short look at this beautiful cave system and the newer part rebuilt by the CZ Army in 1960 where a nuclear proof communication and command shelter was constructed in the old tunnels.
