Walnut Burl Magnetic Knife-Holder

Our house build is almost complete, and one of the fun tasks was to make and install a magnetic knife holder, from some of the walnut we'd milled and stickered and stored in the barn.
My son Michael helped me select the magnets, a pair of very strong six inch by 1/2" by 1/8" strips.
To get the magnetic force maximally strong, the face of the wood over the magnets has to be reduced to around 1/16", a bit scary routing that close! But, it worked out.
