"I would like to mention that economic cooperation between our states is consistently expanding. Last year, Russia's trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by more than 30% to $ 96 billion, and in the first half of this year it increased by another 7%. I am sure that a more vigorous transition to national currencies in mutual settlements between the Commonwealth countries will allow us to develop such positive trends. As a matter of fact, we have been doing this for many years, and it is not tied to any political conjuncture. In general, this will contribute to strengthening the financial sovereignty of our states, developing domestic capital markets, and deepening regional economic integration," Vladimir Putin stressed.
