For episode 101 we are joined by by the immensely talented Alkistis Dimech.

Alkistis is an artist, dancer-choreographer and writer exploring the occulted dimensions of the carnal body and its subtle anatomy. Her art and praxis is grounded in ankoku butô (dark dance), which she has practised since 2002.

With Peter Grey, Alkistis is the co-founder of Scarlet Imprint, the leading independent press which publishes practitioner-oriented works on magic, esotericism and the occult.

She has performed in the UK, Europe and the United States, solo and in collaboration with musicians and artists and spoken on her practice and given workshops at conferences and events in the UK, Europe and the United States.

In the show Alkistis explains Butô as a form of expression and goes through what it means to her in terms of the unfolding of consciousness in movement. She goes on to discuss the body in as a vehicle for mantic vision and magic. Alkistis also gives her thoughts on the witches dance.

In the Plus show we discuss the dangers of digital immersion of the self and how unplugging from digital is liberating and important for ones wellbeing. We also have a free flowing chat about the joys and struggles of having a relationship with one's garden. Naturally this is my fault as I tend to lose the run of myself when anyone mentions their garden in passing. We also go into recovery after the energetic drain one can experience after ritual work.

Enjoy!
