Causeway is a 2022 American psychological drama film directed by Lila Neugebauer from a screenplay by Elizabeth Sanders, Luke Goebel, and Ottessa Moshfegh. It stars Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry.[2] The story follows Lynsey (Lawrence), a soldier who suffers a traumatic brain injury while deployed in Afghanistan and struggles to adjust to life back home.
The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022.[3] It is scheduled to be released theatrically and on Apple TV+ on November 4, 2022. The film has received positive reviews, with critics praising Lawrence and Tyree Henry's performances.

Production
In April 2019, it was announced Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry had joined the cast of an untitled drama film, with Lila Neugebauer directing from a screenplay by Elizabeth Sanders. Lawrence, Justine Polsky, Eli Bush and Scott Rudin would serve as producers under their Excellent Cadaver and IAC Films banners, respectively, while A24 would distribute.[4][5] In April 2021, following allegations of abuse, Scott Rudin was removed as a producer on the project.[6] On December 30, 2021, the WGA awarded final screenplay credit for the film to both Sanders and the team of Ottessa Moshfegh and Luke Goebel.[7]
Release
In July 2022, it was announced Apple TV+ would distribute the film.[8][9] The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022.[10] The European premiere in London is dated for October 8th at the 2022 BFI London Film Festival. [11] It is scheduled to be released theatrically and on Apple TV+ on November 4, 2022.[12]
