Florida is dealing with a very large number of disabled EV’s due to the hurricane. The fires that happen as a result are extremely difficult to extinguish.

@JimmyPatronis Florida’s CFO and State Fire Marshal tweeted:

“There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale.”
