The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was formerly known as the feast of Our Lady of Victory, owing to the great victory of Christian forces against the Muslims at the Battle of Lepanto. The whole of Christendom prayed the Rosary in hopes of victory, and Our Lady rewarded their faith and devotion.
