Violent Night is an upcoming American Christmas black comedy action film directed by Tommy Wirkola from an original screenplay written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The film stars David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, and Beverly D'Angelo.

When a group of mercenaries attack the estate of a wealthy family on Christmas Eve, Santa Claus must step in to save the day.[1]

Production
In March 2020, Universal Pictures announced that it acquired the original screenplay to Violent Night by Pat Casey and Josh Miller and that 87North Productions would produce.[2] In November 2021, David Harbour was cast in the lead role, with Tommy Wirkola set to direct.[3] In early 2022, John Leguizamo, Beverly D'Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, Cam Gigandet, and André Eriksen were confirmed to star.[4][5][6] The shooting of the film took place from January–March 2022,[7] and had commenced by February 2022 in Winnipeg.[4]

Violent Night will have its world premiere at the New York Comic Con on October 7, 2022, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 2, 2022, by Universal Pictures.
