World leaders react to Putin's nuclear weapon threat

The world's leaders have reacted to Russian President Vladimir Putin's nuclear weapon threat, with US President Joe Biden using his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York to encourage member nations to take action. In front of Russia's delegates, Mr Biden called the threats by the Russian President a direct violation of the UN Charter and also reiterated his position on the referendums to be held in occupied Ukraine regions.

UK Prime Minster Liz Truss met the US President shortly after to discuss heightened global tensions.

Ms Truss is calling for a united front from the West in response to Putin's threat of nuclear warfare.
