Sadly, in many situations you won't even be allowed the luxury of discernment, or won't be grown up enough for this. As long as you accumulate you will distance yourself more and more from who and what you are, especially if you identify with that which you gather. The more you distance yourself, the more suffering will be your guidance. And it'll only try to lead you towards truth. Truth of what and who you are. The more you run from this, the more you'll suffer. There is no other way. One can choose to make their journey towards the truth a mess or wonderful.
