Firefighters are the heroes of our society, protecting us around the clock. But those 24-hour shifts are hard on the body and increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Scientists from the Salk institute and UC San Diego Health in collaboration with San Diego Fire Rescue found a way fend off the negative affects of brutal work hours. It all revolves around when you eat. Emily Manoogian, a scientist at the Salk Institute joined OAN’s Alicia Summers to discuss.
