Create A Rawhide Drum - Ross Hinter

Creating A Rawhide Drum, from the animal, to the bush, to the drum. It's a very lengthy process.

First you need the hide, then you prepare it, lace it into a frame. You travel into the bush to gather the poles to make the frame. After letting it dry for a few days, you dry scrape all the hair off the hide, then cut the hide out of the frame and cut your drum pieces out.

You also cut lacing out of this and you then rehydrate the hide. After all this, you begin to create your drum. Ross Hinter is a creative traditional Artisan.
