First Success against European Digital COVID Certificate (EDCC)

Liebe Bürger,

nach der jüngsten Entscheidung des EU-Parlamentspräsidenten, David Sassoli, den Zugang zu den Gebäuden von der Vorlage des European Digital COVID Certificate (EDCC) abhängig zu machen, wäre ich faktisch von der Ausübung meines Mandats ausgeschlossen, da ich sowohl den Plenarsaal als auch meine Büroräume nicht mehr hätte betreten können.

Wieso ich bei dem Theaterstück um immer neue Maßnahmen und Hürden auf dem Weg in eine „neue Normalität“ nicht mitmache, habe ich bereits in meiner vielbeachteten Rede erklärt. https://youtu.be/2XhZsGLODtg

Ich habe deshalb rechtliche Schritte unternommen und den Parlamentspräsidenten aufgefordert, mir wieder den Zutritt zum Parlament sowie in meine Büroräume zu gewähren und die Ausübung meines Mandats nicht zu beschränken.
Heute hat ein Richter die Maßnahmen zunächst vorläufig außer Kraft gesetzt, so daß ich nun das Parlamentsgebäude wieder betreten kann. Dies gilt aktuell leider nicht für alle, sondern nur für diejenigen, welche die Klage mitunterzeichnet hatten.

Ein erster erfolgreicher Schritt, doch das reicht natürlich noch lange nicht aus. Darum werde ich weiterkämpfen und mich entschlossen für Freiheit, Demokratie und Grundrechte einsetzen und mich allen Attacken übergriffiger Regierungen entgegenstellen.

Dear fellow citizens,

Following the recent decision by the President of the EU Parliament, David Sassoli, to make access to the buildings conditional on the presentation of the European Digital COVID Certificate (EDCC), I would in effect be excluded from exercising my mandate, as I would no longer have been able to enter both the plenary chamber and my office rooms.

I have therefore taken legal action and called upon the President of Parliament to grant me access to the parliament's premises and to my offices again and not to restrict the exercise of my mandate.

Today, a judge suspended the measures for the time being, so that I can now enter the parliament building again. Unfortunately, this does not currently apply to everyone, but only to those who had co-signed the lawsuit.

This is a first successful step, but of course it is not enough. That is why I will continue to fight and resolutely stand up for freedom, democracy and fundamental rights and oppose all attacks by encroaching governments.
